The Quotation process is a fundamental procedure in the expedition of
commerce. You offer goods or services for a price, and your customer either
accepts or rejects the price. Generating quotations often take considerable time
and effort, and as they are in many cases binding contractually, its critical
that they are correct.
E-Quotation (or e-quoting) is the appliance of technology to produce your
quotations for you by bringing together data from various sources and binding
this in a comprehensive package of information which can then be delivered to
the customer. e-quotations are constructed within seconds are can be with your
customer within minutes. Customers will prefer e-quotations because they are
more comprehensive than standard quotations and provide a standard format for
rapid scrutiny of the information. Further, e-quotations can be automatically
integrated into customer systems and/or used as the source for a purchase
request (e-procurement) again saving time and resources.
E-Quotations are constructed in various ways, but in general a client side
system will construct the actual pricing information and product data, then this
would be passed to GENActive which will assemble the information in a standard
format and deliver it to the customer by the most appropriate method.
E-Quotations can be tightly integrated with e-commerce so that customers who
are not using GENActive may make an online purchase of the quoted goods or
services directly from the quotation. GENActive will take the order and process
the payment, whether CWO or account, and whether paid instantly by credit/debit
card, bank transfer, EFT, cheque, cash, or any other supported payment method
(See e-invoicing).
E-Quotations will give you a competitive edge by providing a firm, accurate
and easily digested quotation within seconds instead of hours or days. Be FIRST
every time.
